Xmas blur

I figured I should do my Xmas post before the end of the year! Since that is in just a few hours I better get started. I also sold the Acura today so I have to run off to the bank in a few so this should be short and sweet(Like I am capable of that)! Before Xmas this year was pretty lax, we didn't do the normal stress out to get everything accomplished thing. We slowly got the decorations out and put up. We didn't do the yard. The kids did most of the inside stuff, including the tree (sorry no pics). Since we didn't stress out (really what's the point?) and worry about what to buy, Xmas kind of snuck up on us. I made a very neat and organized list of everything and we stuck to it. I don't even think KW had to step foot in a store this year. We had a great Xmas of course. We had our family party on Xmas eve and that was a ton of fun with Guitar Hero World Tour. We were up till 3am playing. Then my mom made us stop so Santa could come. My kids didn't even notice that Santa and their parents hardly brought anything. Thanks to the fact that all the Johnston kids spent the night. There was total Xmas morning chaos! KW took about a 20% pay cut in the middle of the year so we were forced to scale back a lot. In fact he is getting another 15-18% cut tomorrow. So we will be scaling back even more. That is one of the reasons we decided to sell the car. But back to Xmas... Everyone woke up (me and KW finally got out of bed!) around 9:30 and the chaos commenced! After presents we cooked breakfast. SO and JO were stuck at their house so KW had to go get them in the Jeep. After breakfast my dad and grandma stopped by for a little bit. Along with the Hansen's. SO, JO, WH, and LA stayed and played GHWT and GH Aerosmith before they left. Then I took a nap before I had to leave for work! It was a short and simple day with hardly any meltdowns! Friday night we were up till 2 playing GHWT, Saturday we played GHWT and Wii Fit all day then stayed up and played GHWT again till 4am. Sunday afternoon we finally made enough money to unlock to Tool songs, plus a ton of other cool stuff! We had a really relaxing weekend of Wii Fit and GHWT and we are finally getting back to normal now that it is the middle of the week. Here are a ton of pics! I should of probably made a slide show, but oh well!

The finished product. Kyle would like you to appreciate his icicles.

It didn't last very long

They all took turns eating it throughout the month

Short story

Here is a short Story me and PW had last night!
P: "Mom, you going to work?"
T: "Yeah, mom is going to work"
P: "Mom, I love you, in the kitchen, making food"
T: "I love you too, but Dad is going to have to make food"

I don't get a: have fun at work, I will miss you mom.... nothing like that, just a... Women get in the kitchen and get me my turkey pot pie!

Paxton SUPER West

K so yet again here are pics of my middle child in make-up. He may kill me when he is older! He also may grow up to be super. I accept either fate! Technically he only has mascara on but still he is just too dang cute! He also has music in his soul. He is the only one in the family with any sense of rhythm (at all, seriously!), he loves make-up, dolls, doing hair, if it comes in pink, he will take it! and he is a total drama king. EW also went through a short make-up and hair doing spell, but it was very short and he was grown out of it by the time he was PW's age. I have no doubt that PW at some point in his life will be in some sort of dance and/or acting class. So my little PW may wear make-up for the rest of his life and end up being a hair stylist, or dancer, or actor. As long as his husband is loaded I am good! Oh yeah and most importantly, he is happy!

I also want to make it clear. That I make it very clear that those things are for girls. He usually responds with something like, "I like a girl" or "I be a princess"

Oh man, look a those baby blues!

Of course anyone in the room when the camera is turned on has to have their picture taken too. EW still wants to be a rock star (obviously!) plus a chef. He is going to be a rock star chef. How cool is that!?!

P.S. Even though I was not a huge fan of the movie. I really love big gay AL! I'm super, thanks for asking!

Zoo lights

At the beginning of the month we took the kids to the zoo to see the lights. It was way too cold but they had deep fried s'mores so it was all worth it! The kids had a lot of fun and there were animals too. Their lights are so cool. They have all sorts of animals and some of them are animated. I think this will definitely become a family tradition. Not the temple square isn't great... there just really isn't anything to do there. The zoo has entertainment plus the lights are hysterical but still really pretty too. We didn't get a lot of pics.

Tree hunting (long)

KW dad's family cuts down Xmas trees every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This is the first year we have ever gone. Apparently we are not so good at the family tradition stuff. It was a ton of fun and I literally can not wait until next year. Although I am way to lazy for a real tree, it is nice to be with family, and really nice to be in the mountains. Some people probably think I am crazy because I actually enjoyed walking around in the freezing cold for really nothing. We had no intention of getting our own tree. This year the area was on Mirror Lake Highway by Whitney Reservoir. I had never been there in the winter and it was just as pretty under snow as it is in the summer when everything is full of life. The road to get there was so icy it was crazy. There was a huge wreck and a traffic jam because it was so slick you literally could not even walk on the road. There was this little tiny hill and no one could make it up. People had to put chains on and mostly everyone just turned around. Our mini van is a champ! KW just coasted right up the hill with no prob. We were the only two wheel drive vehicle to make it. It was awesome. KW really should be a professional driver. Here are some great pics!

What kids should be doing at 6 in the morning on a Saturday! Especially after being up till after midnight playing with the beer pong adults the night before!

My boys like mornings as much as me!

Stopping for gas before heading up the mountian!

KW showing off his mad sliding skills on the road. He was probably sliding for 30-40 feet at a time. It was crazy slick. He is a sliding champion. KW can not walk on slick surfaces he has to slide. If KW comes to your house during a snow storm I guarantee he will leave slide marks in your driveway!

Lots of random pics from the excursion!

WW licking the snow off of some ice!

PW getting a lift

and looking cute

Just BW

more BW, she loves beenies now and wants to wear one all the time. She also tries to make us all wear them too!

The fam!

EW looking like he is pondering life, but really I am yelling at him!

PW and his big stick he carried around all day!

EW apparently having too much fun!

Me and KW at beer pong the night before tree hunting!

For LeighAnne!

Here are our Thanksgiving pics! It was short, sweet and there was a ton of good food... of course! Dinner was at my house this year. I like having dinner at my house. I enjoy cooking and this year with my mom immobile it was really the only option. Plus my mom gets really stressed out about having people at her house and I do not. I am a zero stress factory! The turkey I made was delicious! There was no left over turkey from my 19 lb bird! I had to make another turkey over the weekend so we could make turkey sandwiches. SO and JO brought over DDR and we played that after dinner. Then I took a quick nap before I headed off to work. Which really pissed JO off! Apparently babies don't need critical care on the holidays! Really he just wanted to stomp my ass at DDR, he really likes to win, it's kind of his thing!

PW's very healthy dinner of marshmallows and cranberry goo!

What did we ever do without DDR!?! Really what else is there to do on Thanksgiving!

How all good Thanksgivings should be spent

PW deciding that maybe a little substance would be good!
