Staying awake!

SWEETHEART TAG Each person answers questions about their sweethearts. At the end of the post, the person then tags 6 people and posts their names; then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment, letting them know they have been tagged.

What is your husbands name? Kyle Wyle West, or something like that!
How long have you guys been married? 4.5 glorious years! Actually one day short of .5!
How long did you date? A long *ss time... or 7ish years
How old is he? 27
Who is taller? Kyle has me by about 5 inches... good thing I hardly ever wear flats!
Who can sing best? I don't think you want to hear either of us sing.
Who is smarter? Well since I am the smartest person I know... Actually he is pretty dang smart and I would be SOL a whole lot without my personal Kylepedia!
Who does laundry? Mostly HIM! At least that is what he would say! It is fairly close to 50/50
Who pays the bills? Me! It causes him stress just hearing about it, I can't imagine what he would be like if he actually had to do it!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you are standing at the foot of the bed looking at it, he does
Who mows the lawn? Kyle. Well it's probably about a 60/40. But I don't weed eat so I am a slacker mower!
Who cooks dinner? Me, well I try really hard to. That is the ONLY thing he doesn't do and I try really hard to make sure he doesn't have to worry about what to eat.
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? We are never wrong! He usually apologizes first, of course it's usually because he was the one being a jerk!
Who kissed who first? No idea, that was FOREVER ago! I am sure I did since I use kissing to break the ice!
Who wears the pants? Me for sure. We do what I want, unless he wants to do something else. Then I have to show him why my plans are superior, using my incredible intellect!
Now I TAG whoever feels like it.

I should not fill out surveys at 6 AM!

New roomates

Last Friday my mom broke her right foot walking up the stairs to the bank. She spent all weekend cripple and finally went to the Orthopedic on Monday. She got all cast-ed up and they sent her on her way with a pair of crutches. Well her right shoulder isn't exactly in working condition so the crutches didn't exactly work out. Walking in to my house Monday night she tore the meniscus in her left knee. They won't do anything until at least next Monday. So until then, so she can have 24 hour care, her and Doug live with us. I am sure she would be fine without us, seeing how she has one totally good appendage left, but just to be safe they moved in! Doug (and her) are in a little bit of denial. Plus if they do end up doing surgery she is going to need to be here to recover. There is just too much going on in their lives for her to be relying on Doug for care. He has way too many other responsibilities that need to be handled during the day. Let me tell you how disappointed my kids are that Grandma and Grandpa have moved in!

WOOHOO!!!!!!!

I got a roomba... and it rocks! I didn't get the top of the line one, but it does go back to its charging station after it is done. I love not having to vacuum. Now if they only made one for stairs, I would be set. The model above this one you can program to run once a day so you don't even have to start it! It takes a really long time to walk over and press the clean button once a day!

Also, because I am really spoiled, I got a bottom of the line one for the bedrooms upstairs, and it is just as awesome!

Gotta love the public school system

So when me and Kyle had kids I kind of always assumed they would go to private school. Neither one of us really excelled in public school for two totally different reasons. However this summer we never really got around to talking about it or evening picking a couple to apply to. We decided that we would give public school a try this year. One of the reasons we ended up buying this house was because the schools in the area all had really good reputations. So since we had bought the house because of that we figured it would be stupid not to use them. Last week Ethan came home with this magazine (that I believe he got on a field trip to Maceys).

It had some interesting stuff published in it. There was an article about the solar system and one about the copper mine and the huge trucks they use there. Then there was my favorite article, the one about the seven wonders of the world. It had them all listed with where they are located in parenthesis next to their name, a short blurb about them, and then of course a picture. This is what it had to say about the Grand Canyon! Enjoy!!!
Sorry the flash was weird on the paper

And all this time I was sure it was in Arizona!

A little Dad photography

When I loaded the pics on the computer today I found these mystery pics. I can only assume they were shot by my darling husband, one night while I was at work. I always worry that they don't get to have any fun, that Kyle just sits around playing stupid tetras on his damn iphone. Since that is what he is doing every night when I leave! It looks like they are getting some fun in though. Which makes me feel a little better about abandoning my family every night. Now if I just has some evidence that they were all brushing and flossing!

I love that he has an entire bag of marshmellows

Ethan is not allowed to have toy weapons. Well none of them are! But when he is posing as a pirate he always holds a pretend sword. I love it!

The scabs on Brynn's nose are from where she face planted the sidewalk last Friday racing Paxton.

Paxton may be turning over a new leaf

Last Wednesday I woke up and Paxton was not in his bed. This is cause for panic. The week before him and Brynn snuck downstairs and covered almost every surface on the main level in black marker. Including the furniture, not just the magic eraser-able walls! So when he was not asleep upstairs I was panicked. I hate waking up to stuff like that, it ruins the whole day. I had remembered him coming in to snuggle about an hour earlier. When I checked his bed and he wasn't there, I headed down to see what destruction awaited me. This is what I found.

What a relief, he was just snoozing on the couch. Much like he is right this very minute. The whole week as been just like this. Not with the sleeping on the couch thing, but relaxing. He has been so well behaved. He only goes to time out for minor things, like yelling or getting to excited and hitting or spitting here and there, but nothing major. I have not had to fix any major catastrophes in a while. It is quite a welcomed change. Now Brynn is the naughty one. What are you going to do? You can't skip the terrible twos!

Making a little craft project out of cleaning up a mess Brynn made!

I just wanted to throw this pic of Eth in because it is too funny not to. A little back ground. My aunt Leigh Anne is an Uppercase Living distributor. So my house is full of it of course! This is Ethan ULing his fruit by the foot!

RIP Roxy!

7/4/00-11/13/08

You were here for just 8 short years. You were so sweet even mean old Kyle couldn't help but love you. We almost lost you when you were just a brand new puppy, you pulled through and spent a lot of good times with us. You had many owners in your life. You started out as mine, Kyle quickly adopted you, then mom took over while we were in Phoenix and just barely relinquished control to Doug about a year ago. You were very lucky to have such a great family, and I am glad we were able to provide that for you. I am sure you knew that because you showed us nothing but unconditional love. We will always remember your ability to sniff out chapstick and chocolate within a 5 mile radius, and how you were able to get to it no matter where it was. We will never forget how car sick you would get. How you would just stand on the center console and lean your head on mom to help comfort you on long rides. You went by many names and we loved all that went with them. Roxy, Rox, Rocky, Rock and Rue. I am sure there are a few I am missing. Stef reminds us that you were sick and in pain, and now you have gone to a better place. For that I am very grateful. I am very sad today but happy to have had you in my life.

Brynn voted!

Well really I did, but she stole my sticker and she looks really cute so I let her!

Pumpkin carving

We're so cool, we carve pumpkins after Halloween! My little brother is off track so him and my little sister had a sleep over after the birthday party. We needed something to do and Ethan (and me) were really bummed that we didn't get to carve pumpkins this year. There honestly just was not any time. As some of you know we usually carve pumpkins twice a year, and we carve a lot of pumpkins each time. Well we went on the hunt for left over pumpkins. I had been to Harmons earlier in the day so I knew they didn't have any. We lucked out at Reams and here are some pics of our escapades! The best fun $7 can buy!

Paxton carved some of his own this year

Brynn getting her guts!

Pumpkin gut pies! Yummy

Yeah so he probably won't be in drama club, I'm almost positive!

Kyle free handing his from the web!

So proud of her pumpkin

Ellie and her pumpkin. (I did not notice Paxton had the fire stick until I saw this picture! Mom of the year)

Ethan carving

Wyley and his pumpkin

Ethan carved his name into his, after he finished his pirate

The finished products. Bottom: Ethan, Middle: Ellie, Top: Kyle

Bottom: Brynn, Middle: Wyley, Top: Paxton

I did not actually get to carve mine, although I bought a pumpkin. I got to help the kids and I had a blast. Kyle was sad (well worried I would be) I didn't get to carve one, but I honestly didn't notice I had so much fun, I love pumpkin carving, and one more time for good measure, I LOVE Halloween!

Who would take a picture of this?

This is my basement i.e. kid tornado alley! It's really hard to see, but what you should see is about a 20' X 40' carpeted room. What you do see is thousands of toys scattered everywhere! You can blow it up to fully appreciate it! That's Brynn and Chris' oldest son, Tye in the bucket, and yes that is crayon on the wall! Now you can go back to your dirty house and appreciate how clean it actually is!

P.S. Grandmas.. maybe one cool gift will be sufficient this Christmas!

Happy Birthday

Brynn turned two on Nov 2nd, and Kyle turned 27. The morning of the party was pure chaos. I did not sleep the night before because I thought I lost my purse on my way home from the bachlorette party, turns out it was in LeighAnne's van! So I woke up at 12 (really 11 thank god) then I had to run to the store to get cake, ice cream, and snacks. The lady at the cake counter was totally cool, she must of read my emotions and she catered to my needs and I will forever be grateful! She totally decorated the boring plain cakes for me, without me even asking, she just offered. I have had some unpleasant experiences (they ruined the morning of Paxton's first birthday for me) and it was a well appreciated change. A ton of people showed up and the kids played and ran around. Brynn got about 10 pounds of clothes and some much needed dolls! Kyle mostly got beer! Thanks to everyone who came. I have the best family and group of friends ever. Here are some pics of their party.

Opening presents

Cheese

Sheila opening dolls as fast as humanly possible so Brynn won't throw a fit

Getting her doll all situated in her new stroller.

Blowing out the candles

Those are a lot of candles old man!

He's going to get some help from Packy

These are mostly for Joe because I know how much he loves when Kade does anything that would be considered nonathletic!

Stef's shower and bachelorette party!

K, I don't have any pictures of either event, but they were on Nov 1st and a lot of fun. Once again you can check out her blog for pics! She got a ton of stuff and the panty line was the best thing ever. If I had any friends I would totally steal the idea! Here are some pics of the morning before the parties.

Swimming in the tub, getting all that sticky Halloween gunk off!

Wearing some pretty jewelry, or glow sticks, it's the same thing when you are ALMOST two!

She fell asleep on the way to the party and woke up the second the car stopped. This is her pretending to sleep for the camera!

A cute smile

Halloween

We made it! I don't know how, but we did. If I wouldn't of got the kids costumes at the beginning of the month, I don't think they would of had them! My kids spent Thursday night at Jane's, she always takes them trick or treating on Main St in the afternoon on Halloween. I had to work Thursday night, so it gave me a chance to get a couple hours of uninterrupted sleep on Friday morning too. This year I made the trek up to Park City too, this was my first year and I had a blast. My kids have always done this, so it was fun to be involved this year. Plus I love Halloween costumes. I was worried that I would be the only adult not dressed up, but there were a few dad's and even fewer mom's not dressed up, so I wasn't the only spoiler. I just didn't have time to worry about me when I woke up. My main goal was to just make it up there! They had a dog parade after the trick or treating, that was pretty cool. Then we came down to go to Ben and Kim's. This is another thing that seems to have become a tradition on Halloween. I love it, Kim makes awesome "chick food" and the kids always have a fun time. We didn;t even go trick or treating this year, the kids just played. We get to see a lot of the Falkners in October. We usually do something for Kim's birthday earlier in the month and then we get Halloween. It is a great chance for our family's to catch up after busy summers apart. Here a some pics (probably a lot, have a mentioned I love Halloween!)

How often do you get to see the hulk make a pizza?

Sleepy Brynn

A couple cute witches

A tired, cranky, sweaty Jack Sparrow.

Grandma and Jack

And a couple dogs, mostly because I think it is hilarious that dogs get their own parade! The humans don't get a parade!
